Hamburger Blogging September 14th, 2010
The last three or four cookouts we’ve had have involved me experimenting with a really good and personal burger recipe. Here’s where I’m at so far. All amounts are scaled as per pound of lean ground beef.
1 tbsp softened butter
1 tsp salt
1 tsp black pepper
1 tsp cayenne pepper
1 tbsp J&D’s Cheddar Bacon Salt
1/8 c minced white onion
1/4 c shredded cheddar cheese
2 strips original cut bacon, pulverized and minced into a paste
1 tbsp minced garlic
1 tsp liquid smoke
Hand-work all the ingredients into the meat, make into burgers, and grill (I guess that part is obvious)
They have been raved about by various folks who are into the burger scene, so I think it’s coming along well. Anyone have any ideas for future innovations? I’m thinking chopped mild peppers of some sort…
